I Want {Ed. 4}
I want space for my work.
I love my little, 600 sq.-ft. house, but I long for space so I can do my work a little easier.
I want a studio - a huge studio.
I want it to have windows all across the south-facing wall and a sky light above. I want half of it to be empty - a blank wall and blank space for portraits and other photography.
I want a corner set up for my videos - a permanent set that I never have to alter or fuss with.
And I want another area for painting and art projects.
I’d like a little room with a lot of light for all the meat-and-potatoes of my work. A place to print things, a wrapping area, a shipping station. A place to package paintings and books that are ready to go out in the mail.
And of course, I need a little writing nook somewhere - maybe in the studio or maybe another small room of its own, with a beautiful, happy window that looks out onto my garden.
While I’m putting this spell out into the world, I’ll add a few extras that have nothing to do with work. Like a large room with mirrors along one wall to use for dancing and yoga.
And how about a room for music? I want, I want, I want to be able to have access to my piano. And I want to buy a baby grand piano, too. And I’d love to have a drum set. And a place for my guitar and banjo.
I want a huge living room and dining room and kitchen so my whole family can come around for the holidays and they’ll be room for everyone.
