Rising (Audio)

This is a seven-minute poem, a seven-minute story, a seven-minute sermon on female sexual liberation. It is the text from my photography book, Rising.

It explores the power of sexuality, creativity, and life that always rises to the surface. No matter how harsh the conditions around us, no matter what hardships we have been through, no matter what oppression we face, our wildest selves will always rise, always prevail.

The soul is irrepressible. It cannot be lost. It cannot be held down. It cannot be broken.

It will bubble and surge and swell. It will leap and spread its wings and fly. It will rise.
